Tang Ximing, a senior engineer at a state-owned forestry farm in Zhongwei, crafted a steel tool that differs from regular shovels by featuring two horizontal bars at the front tip. He participated in the first marathon held in Tianjin in 1981. Liu lost his right hand in an accident at work in 1996. The physical disability did not stop him from running. Liu attended many marathon competitions in Beijing, Dalian, Xiamen and other cities in China. Every morning at four o'clock, Liu began to run along the Haihe River. "I'll run as long as I can.
